The median age in Afghanistan is quite low at 18.1/18.2 compared with the median age of the U.S., Australia, and Mexico. When the median age of a nation is lower, it indicates that a large percentage of the population needs to be educated, and government funding should be allotted for schools. Interestingly, Afghanistan also has a lower literacy rate than the other three nations, which may indicate that they do not have enough financial resources to educate their younger population.
